Isabel Yang
(b. 2001, New York) (they/them she/her)
Isabel studies and lives in Providence, RI. Isabel is currently a fourth-year student studying Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design and will graduate with a BFA in Furniture Design in 2023.
Isabel's work celebrates sentimentality by creating functional objects that call upon culture, memory, and narrative. Through her multidisciplinary practice, they strives to understand the relationship between different mediums and the relationship between users, objects, and the spaces they occupy.
Isabel’s work has been published and exhibitied in Graphite Journal (issue XIII), Are.na 2021 Annual, College Hill Independent (issue 7), RISD Furniture Triennial, Gelman gallery, and NYC Design week at ICFF + Wanted Design 2022.
